Richard Mandair

ACA · Managing Partner

Richard qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1996 and, after gaining valuable experience in a local firm of accountants, Mandair & Co was set up in 1999. Richard has a wealth of experience in advising clients in general practice, in all aspects of their business, to include taxation, compliance and regulatory matters affecting their business. Richard has grown the business from his early days practising on his own to now working with a dedicated team of 15. Outside of work Richard enjoys a variety of sports including football and table tennis.

Peter qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1984 with a Winchester firm and has a wealth of experience advising clients in general practice, and enjoys providing expertise to his clients. He has a wide knowledge of regulatory matters affecting businesses. He has been involved in the preparation of accounts for all sizes and types of business throughout his career, including limited companies, partnerships, sole traders and charities. Peter also has a wide range of experience in all aspects of income tax, corporation tax and VAT and has successfully concluded various complex tax investigations. One of his specialist areas is the antiques trade.

Ralph Crump

FCA

Ralph qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1976, working in the Southampton office of a London-based provincial practice and gaining experience in all aspects of general practice work for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies, before moving on qualification to the local office of one of the “big 4” international firms to gain large-firm audit experience as well as corporate tax, advisory and insolvency work, becoming manager of an audit department. After 10 years Ralph became a partner at a six-office regional practice, heading the firm's insolvency department as a licensed insolvency practitioner. In 1992 he established his own general practice providing accounting, tax, audit and advisory services to all types and sizes of business, including charities and not-for-profit organisations. He continued to be a registered auditor until after the transfer of his practice to Mandair & Co in 2023, where he continues to work on a part-time basis.

Annemarie Marshall

Taxation Specialist

Annemarie has been with the practice since 2005, having previously worked for the Inland Revenue for over 20 years. As a taxation specialist she has vast knowledge in all aspects of tax including self-assessment, capital gains tax, foreign income, rentals, residency and seafarers.

Brian

Chartered Accountant

Born in London, Brian came to Southampton University in 1978 to study for a degree in mathematics, and never went back. After his degree he joined a firm of chartered accountants in Eastleigh where he trained and qualified as a chartered accountant. He stayed with the same firm for more than forty years, during which time he joined into partnership, led the firm, and then joined Mandair & Co in 2024. He has experience in accounts preparation for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies, individual and company taxation, VAT and payroll. He has been married, also for more than forty years, and has two adult sons.

Rachel Audin

ACA · Chartered Accountant

Rachel began an apprenticeship in her role in 2017, studying AAT. Once she completed her apprenticeship and gained her AAT Level 4, she went on to study her ACA and qualified as a chartered accountant in 2023. Rachel deals with a variety of accountancy aspects including VAT, sole trader and company accounts, payroll and CIS.

Ayesha Pearce

Accounts

Ayesha joined the team in April 2013. She started working as an apprentice and has now gained a broad range of experience in practice, and looks after a range of clients. During her apprenticeship she gained her Level 3 NVQ in business administration and she is now working towards her AAT qualifications. Ayesha's experience includes working on monthly payroll, CIS, VAT, and limited company and sole trader financial statements.

Danny Rumsey

AAT Level 4 · ACCA

Danny has successfully completed his AAT Level 4 and ACCA qualification. He is enthusiastic about assisting clients with all of their accounting matters, and has been dealing with bookkeeping and VAT matters and company accounts for a range of clients. Danny is now also dealing with the tax compliance work for individual clients and deals directly with clients to answer their queries.

Mia Mandair

Client Manager

Mia joined the team in 2019 as an accounts assistant. Since then she has progressed to client manager and deals with accounts preparation, VAT returns and self-assessment tax returns for both sole traders and limited companies within the Southampton and Portsmouth offices. Mia is completing the professional level in her AAT qualification.

Amri Mandair

Accounts Assistant

Amri joined the office in 2021 having graduated with first class honours in accounting. She is now part-qualified with ACCA and working towards her final exams. Her role as an accounts assistant consists of accounts preparation, VAT returns and self-assessment tax returns for both sole traders and limited companies. Amri also deals with HMRC enquiries ranging from compliance to voluntary disclosures.

Assistant Accountant

Lauren joined the team in August 2018 as a semi-senior accounts assistant. Lauren is currently studying her ACCA and is hoping to soon be a chartered certified accountant. Lauren has two young sons who keep her busy and enjoys socialising with friends when she can.

Rabbir Ahamed

Payroll & Pensions Manager

Rabbir joined the company in December 2019 as a payroll and pensions manager. His duties include payroll, pensions and CIS (Construction Industry Scheme). He has six years' experience and holds a BA (Hons) in Applied Accounting from Anglia Ruskin University and a Foundation Degree in Payroll Management from the CIPP (Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals), University of Worcester.

Tawny Rider

PA to Richard Mandair

Tawny joined the team in September 2014 as a personal assistant and receptionist and has played a key role ever since. Tawny is the first point of contact at Mandair & Co and has a variety of duties that include reception and administration, assisting the accounts team and acting as PA to Richard Mandair. Her qualifications include a Level 3 NVQ in Business Administration and she is now working towards her AAT qualifications.

Michelle Hill

Michelle joined the team in 2023, having previously worked for other accountancy firms in the local area. Michelle works with both limited companies and personal clients on accounts, VAT and taxation.
